I have been in the personal fitness training industry for the past 4 years. I earned my personal fitness trainers certification from N.E.S.T.A. (National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association) a little over 4 years ago and have recently completed the Holistic Nutritional Consultant certification through the American College of Health care Sciences.
Along with these certifications, I am in the process of completing the Specialist in Performance Nutrition Certification through I.S.S.A. (international sports sciences association) and continuing my degree pursuit in complementary and alternative medicine through the American College of Health care Sciences.
My philosophy on fitness and wellness is that it is a continuous pursuit of knowledge, and I love using that knowledge to better understand what makes YOU fit and healthy!
My interest in the fitness industry actually started about 23yrs ago, at the age of 3, when I started ballet lessons. I was taught how important a healthy lifestyle and a positive self image are for my all over well-being. As I grew up I became excited to share this with other people. My interest started with dance and grew to Pilates, Yoga, Kick-boxing, group, and 1 on 1 personal training.
There is nothing I enjoy more than to help someone achieve their personal best and accomplish the goals that they have set. I have been so lucky to work in such a exciting and fulfilling industry for the past 6yrs. I am certified through ISSA (International Sports Sciences Association) in personal training, and AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America) in group exercise, yoga, and Pilates.
I have had the opportunity to create unique, personalized workouts for clients wanting to lose weight, gain weight, build strength, develop balance and even recover from injury. I believe that fitness is for everyone at every level and can be fun and rewarding!
I decided to get into the fitness industry 7 years ago while playing football at St Ambrose University. I love physical challenges and pushing boundaries. I pursued and earned my Bachelors in Science in Fitness and Human Performance three years ago. I have been a Personal Trainer since graduation. I have trained every type of person from 60 year olds looking for more mobility and strength, to high school athletes looking to improve in their respective sports. I have guided many people through weight loss goals, to gains in strength and mass, and overall general fitness and wellness. I have my personal training certification through ACE (American Council on Exercise). I have enjoyed every minute of my personal training career and love helping people meet their fitness goals and beyond
